As announced today (December 12), U2 have been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for “Ordinary Love,” from Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, the Nelson Mandela biopic. U2 won a Golden Globe ten years ago for “The Hands That Built America” from Martin Scorsese’s Gangs Of New York.
Justin Timberlake, along with his Inside Llewyn Davis castmates Oscar Isaac and Adam Drive, earned a nomination for the song “Please Mr. Kennedy,” from the film about the ’60s folk scene.

Also nominated in the Best Original Song category: Taylor Swift, for “Sweeter Than Fiction” from the documentary One Chance, Coldplay for “Atlas” from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Broadway star Idina Menzel, best known for playing Elphaba in the musical Wicked, is nominated for her song “Let It Go” from the animated Disney flick, Frozen.
